In Summer 2013, Sarah worked in partnership with the University of Sheffield Students Union to choreograph and direct a unique mass performance event, a Flash-Mob meets Simon Says if you will. An MP3 track was created, giving movement instructions for the listener, which provided interesting and sometimes hilarious viewing for the un-beknowing audience. 200 students signed up to the opportunity and downloaded the track the day of the event. They were told a meeting point and a start time to press play on their devices and the performance unfolded from there! They were told to hug a stranger, have a dance off, follow and copy the audience and go on a joruney from their start location to an unknown final location where there was a party waiting for them. The project was designed to create a sense of togetherness without boundaries and resulted in a heart-warming, enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
