Position: Creative Director
Bio: Sarah is the Blue Moose Creative Director delivers within the Community and Education strands, alongside leading Preston Youth Dance Company. Sarah is a life-long Preston North End supporter and enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible! Sarah trained at Middlesex University and the University of Leeds, gaining a first class BA (Hons) in Dance in 2009. After graduating, Sarah gained Qualified Teacher Status in Secondary education whilst embarking as a freelancer, working with Ludus Dance, local authorities, schools and community groups across the North West of England. She worked as an employed member of the creative team at Ludus Dance for a year following her teacher training which truly established her connection to community dance and choreographing for performance within community settings. Sarah then went on to work as the Dance Development Officer for Blackpool Council, developing contemporary dance opportunities for young people and supporting a thriving Arts Award programme.

In 2015 Sarah formed Blue Moose Dance Company with Zanna Dennis, uniting their shared passion for empowering community dance provision. Sarah continues to lead the organisation as Creative Director and is passionate about moving the organisation forward, engaging with new communities and supporting education environments to experience and celebrate the power of creativity.


Hannah Tongue

BA (Hons) Dance Performance and Teaching
Position: Education & Events Co-Ordinator
Bio: Hannah is our Education and Events Coordinator, as well one of our Artists that delivers across our schools and community programmes regularly. Whilst Hannah has been living in the North West for the past 7 years, she is an original Southerner…and still has the accent! Hannah studied at UCLan and gained her BA (Hons) Dance Performance and Teaching degree in 2016. Hannah also has 6 years teaching experience in many settings including Care Homes, Schools, Colleges and Universities. Hannah dances to move with others and feel free!

Position: Finance Officer
Bio: Lucy is our Finance Officer, joining Team Moose in February 2020. Lucy helps us with all things numbers and help keep Team Moose thriving!


Michelle Hodgson

Michelle Hodgson

Bio: Michelle is a Director of Blue Moose Dance Company CIC and helps guide us forward making use of her MA in Creative Arts Consultancy.  She has been the Commercial Director of the company she owns with her husband for over 20 years and brings a wealth of practical knowledge in management to her role as a director.  Fun fact, Michelle won a disco dancing competition, complete with trophy in 1983!

Richard Mounsey

Bio: Richard is a Director of Blue Moose Dance Company CIC. Richard comes from an Accountancy background and brings a new perspective to the company, helping us stay connected to those outside of Arts backgrounds. Just like Michelle, Richard is a secret Dance pro on the side… he was once awarded a prize for Salsa dancing!

Bio: Sarah is a Part Time Carpenter, a lover of the outdoors and lived on a canal boat for 6 years! Sarah dances because it makes her feel alive!


Jenny Reeves

BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance
Bio: Jenny eats kiwis with the skin on (try it!), has always dreamed of being a children’s TV presenter and likes being upside down. Jenny dances because it feels fabulous!


Darcey Frost

BA (Hons) Dance Teaching and Performance
Bio: Darcey is slightly obsessed with all things Disney and Marvel, has a cat named Tilly (another thing she’s obsessed with) and has titanium metal in her heart!
Darcey dances because it makes her happy! She also loves seeing people grow and express themselves through dance. It has allowed her to meet many amazing people!


Anna James

BA (Hons) Dance Teaching and Performance
Bio: Anna got stung by 39 wasps at the same time (ouch!) She is addicted to chocolate and has a season ticket for Manchester City football club.
Anna dances because she has never known anything different; she uses dance to express herself.
